Another Day
January 12, 2009
Back to work, meeting, luncheon, snow, but after my break from photography yesterday, I’m ready to go back to that today. I did bake & cook & picked out new knitting and crochet projects yesterday, so I was creative, just in a different fashion. I shoveled, cleaned out my yarn stash and sorted stuff around the house. It was a relaxing, no pressure day and that was nice.
Ice, Baking, & Landlord
December 22, 2008
After over a foot of snow and a flash freeze last night, I’m not looking forward to going out there in the frozen tundra. I did a ton of baking yesterday and I’m pleased with the results. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I found out that the problems downstairs are not resolved. There’s a plumbing leak and the disaster relief people are rebutting my dispute of their ridiculous charges. So – feeling that financial ruin feeling again. It would have been a good day for a snow day, but it’s not.
On its way

The errands are done, the presents are wrapped and mailed. The decorations are up. A little more cleaning, shoveling, and a lot of baking and cooking to do in the next few days. Still rather calm.
Winter Gardening
December 7, 2008
I opened my blinds this morning to the first snow of the season, pondering why I have this need / desire to bake. Perhaps baking is a form of winter gardening, a place to use all of my senses, be creative and warm.

Still sick, but managed to make my assistant sick, so off to work I go. Big dance party tonight, that I really wanted to attend, but now I don’t know if I can – will it make me sicker or better or neither?
Baked a coffee cake, from www.joyofbaking.com last night. Yummy. Managed to reach my not lofty goals of reading, relaxing and baking from last weekend.
